Having good oral health can increase a person’s chances of living longer, reaching 100 years or more. . According to a study recently published by Boston Medical Center and Boston University in the US, having good oral health can help you age healthily.
The study included 73 centenarians, 467 descendants of those people and 251 people in a control group, mostly children of people born at the same time as people aged 100 or over but who died before reaching that age.
According to the study, only 37% of centenarians no longer had teeth when they were between 65 and 74 years old. Furthermore, the descendants of the centenarians had more than half of their natural teeth compared to the descendants of the control group.
